Cardi B And David Letterman Visit Historic Hyde Park Location
The fourth season of Netflix's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, hosted by David Letterman, recently hit the streaming platform. Hudson Valley residents might recognize one of the locations in the former Late Night host's interview with Cardi B.
The former late-night host filmed part of his interview with the rap superstar at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library in Hyde Park.
You might be asking yourself why Letterman would interview the rapper at the FDR Museum. But Cardi B is a self-proclaimed fan of presidents, notably Roosevelt. She has previously discussed her love of the 32nd president of the United States, including in a 2018 interview with GQ and while talking to Bernie Sanders in 2019.
Clifford Laube, the public program specialist for the library and museum, told The Poughkeepsie Journal that the two "explored the museum mostly on their own, and at their own pace. Library. Acting Director William Harris went along as a guide and to answer any questions." They visited the library and museum and the National Historic Site.
The outlet reports that the visit took place on January 28 in the afternoon. It was the first visit for the Brox rapper, while Letterman has visited "at least a couple times before."
In addition to the traditional sit-down interview, Letterman interviews his guests in a more personal setting, such as their home or hometown. For Cardi B, production chose a bodega in the Bronx and the FDR site.
The show's fourth season is now streaming on Netflix. In addition to Cardi B, the six-episode series features interviews with Will Smith, Billie Eilish, Kevin Durant, Ryan Reynolds, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
