Updated: Oct 26, 2020

This year continues to be trash, with the latest report that on April 23rd, 2020, Fredrick Thomas, aka Fred The Godson, has passed away from complications due to the Coronavirus.

Fred, 35, had a history of asthma and kidney failure & was hospitalized earlier this month after contracting the virus. Fred‘s temperature reached as high as 105-degrees, but the fever broke, according to his publicist. His wife, LeAnn Jemmott, provided regular updates on his condition. On April 6, she shared that Fred was 100% relying on a ventilator to breathe, but that percentage had dropped to 40% by April 9. The Source posted an update just yesterday that Fred's condition had improved.

Fans and peers of the beloved rapper took to social media to show support and pray for his recovery. Best friend & fellow rapper Axel Leon expressed how he felt about Fred in his #coldsummerchallenge video.

The Bronx-born rapper will forever be a staple in the New York hip hop scene. Even as an independent artist, he was highly regarded as one of the "good guys" in the industry. Fred The Godson, responsible for heavy hittin‘ records “Monique’s Room” and “Toast to That,” was known for his incredible wordplay & delivery.

Rest in Power Fredrick “Fred The Godson“ Thompson. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans.
