SYN And Semi Beatz Release Debut Album 11:01

New York singer SYN and producer Semi Beatz released their debut album 11:01 last month. The album is the perfect marriage between R&B and hip hop.

Although the two have vastly different influences, the album comes together seamlessly. SYN credits her influences as Erykah Badu, Jazmine Sullivan, The Weeknd, and Travis Scott. You can hear the influence shine through in SYN’s soft, soulful vocals. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Semi Beatz credits Future, Juice WRLD, 808 Mafia, and 21 Savage as influencing his sound. You can hear his influences in the hard bass lines and trap-influenced instrumentals, especially on “CHILDI$H” and “fucked// UP.”

Much like their friendship, cultivated over late nights at The Retreat recording studio in Marlboro, New York, there is a yin and yang structure to their music. It balances out entirely from the bass lines to the melodies.

11:01 is currently available for streaming on all digital platforms. Additionally, their first visual for the project to “TMWYL” is available on Youtube.
